Why drink Bio Matcha Tea Superior?
♥ the most exclusive grade among our matcha teas
♥ is created from the very first spring tea leaves (i.e. first flush)
♥ specific and strong umami taste
Luxury champagne among teas
Bio Matcha Tea Superior can be compared to high quality champagne. Its exclusivity starts with handpicking of the tea leaves. Only the first six tea leaves at the top of the plant are picked, always by hand. Superior is first flush matcha, which means it is made from the very first spring tea leaves. Those leaves are particularly rich in benefits for our body, nutrients and amino acids. Superior’s strong taste is tuned to perfection by Japanese tea masters. That is why you can call Superior the beverage of emperors.
Superior grade has the highest concentration of amino acid L-theanine, which improves mood and also helps produce dopamine and serotonin, so it also improves our mood, breaks down mental and physical stress, strengthens memory and provides the feeling of relaxed mind. Simultaneously, it allows full concentration on your work. Superior also contains theophylline, the tea form of caffeine. It is released gradually for 3-6 hours and together with L-theanine provides intensive concentration and energy boost.
It has something for everyone
Matcha contains high amount of vitamins A, C, E, minerals, fibre, and has about 10x more nutrients than other green teas. A considerable amount of research is interested in matcha’s ability to boost metabolism up to 40 %, which helps with weight control.
How can I tell which grade is the one for me?
We sell matcha of various grades. Some grades are suitable for everyday drinking, others are meant for special occasions. The most luxurious grade is Bio Matcha Tea Superior, which can be described as the most exclusive matcha on the market. We recommend drinking it on special occasions. However, Superior can be also appreciated by the seasoned fans of matcha or demanding customers who are satisfied with only the best the market can offer. Mainly because the first matcha of the season is famous for its specific umami taste.
Can I drink Bio Matcha Tea Superior instead of coffee??
Because of its high content of caffeine, Bio Matcha Tea Superior is a good alternative to coffee. Matcha is gentler for the body because it has no side effects that are characteristic for coffee, such as heart palpitations, nervousness or restlessness. Caffeine in coffee reaches its peak just 30 minutes after ingestion, but drops just as quickly. The caffeine in matcha is released gradually for 3-6 hours. Matcha has been used for centuries by samurai and Buddhist monks to increase concentration and to induce the state of deep meditation. Superior is perfect for this purpose.
In case you want to enjoy both coffee and matcha in one day, we do not recommend drinking one after the other right away. Both beverages contain different kind of caffeine and have different effect on our organism. It is better to leave a few hours between drinking matcha and coffee.
Does Bio Matcha Tea Superior contain any allergens? Are any risks related to drinking matcha?
Superior is finely milled green tea and as such does not contain any allergens. Still, we do not recommend to drink it on an empty stomach. Superior is a very strong tea and it can cause nausea when you’re hungry.
Can I use Bio Matcha Tea Superior as cooking ingredient?
Superior grade is definitely not suitable as an ingredient. We recommend drinking this tea on special occasions. Taste of this grade of matcha would be lost in food and excessive flavouring would destroy Superior’s taste. This exclusive matcha is carefully perfected by Japanese tea masters and as such, it would be a sin to use it for any other purpose than drinking.
What is the recommended daily intake of matcha?
An adult person can drink up to 4-6 grams of matcha a day. Pregnant, nursing, and children should not drink over 2 grams a day.
Where does Bio Matcha Tea Superior grow?
Bio Matcha Tea Superior is grown in Japan in Kagoshima area, where matcha has been cultivated for hundreds of years. Only the top six leaves that are the greenest and juiciest, are picked for Superior and exclusively by hand.
How to store Bio Matcha Tea Superior?
The tin can with Bio Matcha Tea Superior should not be left in direct sunlight. The quality of this velvety powder is easily degraded by air and warmth. For this reason, always make sure the can is well closed and stored in a fridge. After the tin is opened, the tea will very slowly start to lose its properties. That does not mean you should not drink it, only that its colour, taste and aroma will start to alter with time. It is precisely because of this that we do not recommend buying a larger bulk of matcha for personal use – it might not be worth your pay.
